Primary Education: Jumbo & Jet

Jumbo, a friendly dog and Jet, a helpful cat, introduce primary pupils to 8 interactive games supporting literacy teaching.

 

Each programme can stand alone, but can also be used as a whole class or group activity with an interactive whiteboard. Each programme can also be used for assessment purposes.

 

The interactives underpin the principles of learning and teaching as set out in the Primary Strategy Excellence and Enjoyment. These principles are:

 

Ensure every child succeeds

Build on what learners already know

Make learning vivid and real

Make learning an enjoyable and challenging experience

Enrich the learning experience

Promote assessment for learning

 

The programme links with 'The Big Blue Case', BAA's 'big book' resource for KS1 literacy. This pack contains a big book, group readers and a set of activity cards.

 

The programme can be downloaded in .exe format, for playing on your school or home computer. The file is zipped, to make it as small as possible.

 

When you have completed the download, simply unzip the file/s into a folder of your choice, and run the .exe file.
