DataPort is a FREE multimedia resource supporting GCSE ICT, focusing on the design and function of databases. Students explore an exciting virtual airport environment, accessing information about the extensive application of ICT in the smooth running of an airport and the commitment to safeguarding passenger security and comfort.

 

DataPort is based on a passenger's journey through an airport, from arriving at the car park to departure. During their exploration, students undertake several interactive tasks related to 'real world' examples of the uses and benefits of databases and ICT systems. These interactive exercises have been developed with ICT teachers and are differentiated with Higher and Foundation level pathways.

DataPort is an ideal resource to use with an interactive whiteboard, but can also run on a network or individual PC.

The programme is in .exe format, for playing on your school or home computer. The file is zipped, to make it as small as possible.

 

When you have completed the download, simply unzip the file/s into a folder of your choice, and run the .exe file.
