Vocational Skills: Southampton Airport

Partnership with Bitterne Park Ssecondary School in Southampton

 

The aim of the partnership is to share expertise and resources. The partnership includes airport staff facilitating support with work experience placements, enterprise days, workshops, presentations, mentoring, staff work shadowing, school governorships, careers fairs, help with Curriculum Vitae's and careers advice with a focus on the Business and Leisure & Tourism departments.

 

 

Partnership with the Quilley School of Engineering in Eastleigh

 

The partnership with Quilley School, which has specialist engineering status, will include sponsorship for a new Young Engineers Club for 12-14 year olds with the aim of providing a strong foundation for their GCSE years. Other initiatives will include workshops, staff work shadowing, and providing case studies, projects and advice. This partnership is for the mutual benefit of the school and Southampton Airport, as we have traditionally found it difficult to recruit engineers locally. In partnering with Quilley School of Engineering, we aim to improve the future employment opportunities for pupils.
